Coolie vs War 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR starrer War 2 have ignited the box office. Both films, released on August 14, opened to massive crowds, jam-packed theatres, and thunderous fan celebrations. Within just a week, the two juggernauts stormed past the ₹200 crore mark, turning this clash into one of the most talked-about cinematic battles in recent years. It’s South cinema’s legend Rajinikanth locking horns with Bollywood’s action powerhouse Hrithik Roshan in YRF’s spy universe. While both titles have already earned blockbuster status, Coolie has surged ahead, reaffirming Thalaivar’s unmatched dominance at the box office.

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 8

Rajinikanth’s Coolie roared into theatres with a blockbuster start, raking in ₹65 crore on Day 1 and ₹54 crore on Day 2. The momentum carried through the weekend with ₹39.5 crore on Day 3 and ₹35.25 crore on Day 4. As the week progressed, earnings dipped to ₹12 crore on Day 5, ₹9.5 crore on Day 6, and ₹6.5 crore on Day 7. On Day 8, early estimates suggest the film added another ₹6.25 crore, taking its total to an impressive ₹229.75 crore.

War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, also enjoyed a strong opening with ₹52 crore on Day 1 and a peak of ₹57.35 crore on Day 2. However, the collections tapered off to ₹33.25 crore on Day 3 and ₹32.15 crore on Day 4, before dropping sharply to ₹8.75 crore on Day 5. The film managed ₹9 crore on Day 6 but declined further to ₹5.75 crore on Day 7 and ₹5 crore on Day 8. With these numbers, War 2 currently stands at ₹204.25 crore.

While both films are high-octane action entertainers, the numbers show why Coolie is leading the race. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s sharp direction combined with Rajinikanth’s unmatched mass appeal — along with a touch of nostalgia by borrowing its title from Amitabh Bachchan’s 1983 classic — has given the film a distinct edge.

On the other hand, War 2 comes from the successful YRF Spy Universe, bringing back Hrithik’s iconic Kabir character while introducing Jr NTR into the franchise. Despite the strong brand recall and slick action spectacle, it hasn’t been able to match Coolie’s commanding box office pull in the first week.

Coolie vs War 2: Second Week Expectations

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, with no major releases slated until early September, both films have a clear window to grow. Currently, Coolie leads by nearly ₹25 crore, and the coming days will determine whether it maintains its dominance or if War 2 stages a comeback. For now, Round One of this mega box office clash belongs firmly to Rajinikanth.
