Kriti Sanon has expressed her heartfelt admiration for her mother, Geeta Sanon, drawing a parallel between her mother and her character Janaki in Adipurush. Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, Kriti shared two photos. The first photo showcases Kriti’s portrayal of Sita in Adipurush, while the second image features a younger Geeta Sanon.

In the caption accompanying the first photo, Kriti wrote, “Sita Maa… My Janaki.” The second image carried a note that read, “Geeta Maa… My Jaan.” Sharing the post, Kriti expressed her love for her mother, stating, “My Janaki and My Jaan… @geeta_sanon I love you, my most beautiful woman!”

Kriti Sanon’s recent post comes in the wake of a comment made by Dipika Chikhlia, who portrayed the role of Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan. Dipika took a subtle jab at Kriti regarding a viral video in which Adipurush director Om Raut gave a peck on Kriti’s cheek at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati.

In an interview with Aaj Tak, Dipika stated, “Kriti belongs to the present generation of actors where kissing and hugging are seen as innocent gestures. She never perceived herself as Sita.” Dipika mentioned that when she portrayed the character, she truly immersed herself in the role and lived as Sita, whereas modern actors treat it as just another character and move on once the film is completed.

Dipika further commented, “Now, let’s discuss our experience. Nobody had the audacity to utter our names on the set. During our time in character, numerous individuals would come and reverently touch our feet right there on the set. It was a different era. Back then, they didn’t perceive us as actors; they perceived us as divine beings. We couldn’t even embrace anyone, let alone engage in a kiss.”

Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, is a cinematic adaptation of the revered Indian epic Ramayana. Prabhas takes on the role of Raghav, while Kriti Sanon portrays Janaki in this highly anticipated film. Saif Ali Khan joins the cast as the formidable antagonist, Ravana. Adipurush is considered a monumental project in Prabhas’ career, and it has garnered significant attention. With a reported budget of Rs 500 crore, this mythological drama is a joint venture between Bhushan Kumar’s T-series and Retrophiles. Fans can anticipate the film’s release on June 16, 2023.
