Afghanistan has become a real success story in the ongoing 2023 ICC World Cup. They have a new leader, Hashmatullah Shahidi, and they’ve beaten strong teams like England and Pakistan. This is a big deal because in the past two World Cups, they only won one game. However, in the current tournament, they’ve already won two out of their five matches, and they’re in the running for a spot in the semi-finals.
Afghanistan has made a strong impression with their performance, and their success has garnered global attention. People all over social media have been talking about Afghanistan’s success. A fake message has also caught the attention of users.
As Reported by The Times of India, a fake WhatsApp message claimed that Ratan Tata had announced a 10 crore rupee reward for Rashid Khan. Even though Rashid isn’t the team leader but is a well-known player in the Afghanistan cricket team. This fake news eventually reached Ratan Tata, leading him to break his silence on the matter.
The former TATA Chairman addressed the matter by stating, I want to clarify that I haven’t made any recommendations to the ICC or any cricket authority regarding fines or rewards for any players. I have no connection to the world of cricket. Please be cautious and avoid trusting WhatsApp messages and videos of this nature unless they are directly from my official platforms,” the former TATA Chairman stated on X.
I have made no suggestions to the ICC or any cricket faculty about any cricket member regarding a fine or reward to any players.

Afghanistan began their World Cup journey with a loss to Bangladesh. In their second match, they faced a tough defeat against India. However, they managed to surprise everyone by defeating the reigning world champions, England, in their third game.
On October 18, New Zealand secured a significant 149-run victory over Afghanistan. Nevertheless, Afghanistan made a strong comeback from that setback by successfully chasing a target of 283 against Pakistan in their fifth game.
Currently, they hold the seventh position in the points table and are in the running for a possible spot in the semi-finals.
