A distressing viral video depicts the horrifying incident of two Manipur women being paraded naked, sparking outrage from the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum, who view it as evidence of heinous atrocities. The incident unfolded in Kangpokpi district amidst mob violence that ensued after a village was set ablaze. Following the incident, a relative filed a zero FIR, leading to the case being registered at Nongpok Sekmai police station.
The mob’s violence resulted in the deaths of two men, and three women were brutally subjected to forced nudity and gang rape, with one of the victims tragically losing her brother as he tried to protect her. Fortunately, the three women managed to escape with the assistance of locals. Currently, authorities are actively investigating the matter to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
